DOGTEC - The dogs for the 2002 Stage Races

OREGON & WYOMING 2002

Jacques is travelling with the following dogs for this year races.

Follow up and pictures of our teams every day in the 2002 race

Our dogs are Alaskan Huskies.
They are not a registered breed but a type of dog bred for work and competition.
We raise our own racing dogs.
Our kennel counts around 80 dogs. We raise two to three litters every summer.
A racing sled dog weighs 40 to 55 pounds.
Like marathon runners they have long muscles.
An Alaskan husky can race in major events like the IRMSSSDR at the age of 2 years old up to 7 years old.
Our Main leaders are Spade and Joee and we have few younger ones coming along pretty nice, like Hyder, Iset and Smallet.

Note: A swing dog is one that is just behind the leaders.
A wheel dog is one that is just in front of the sled.

CARDIN		3	TEAM	Very friendly ! Brother to DIOR. Weight :55# / 27kg
CROW		6.5	LEADER	WYOMING 99/00/2001 ; FIREPLUG 99/2000 ; YELLOWKNIFE,... Good leader, ran the IRMSSSDR last two years. Weight : 45# / 20kg
DELITE		6.5	TEAM	This will be her first season in Stage racing. We just got her for our friend Joe Redington Jr., Nice and fast dog. Weight : 50# / 22kg
DIOR		4	TEAM	Very friendly ! Brother to CARDIN. He is VERY hard worker and very strong. Weight : 55# / 27kg
HAINES		5.5	TEAM	WYOMING 99/00/2001 ; FIREPLUG 99/00/2001 ; YELLOWKNIFE 98/00/2001, .... Weight : 47# / 23kg
HYDER		5.5	LEADER	Very friendly ! Very nice young leader. Sister to Haines. Weight : 45# / 20kg
ISET		4	SWING	Very friendly ! Very hard worker but not very good eater so !. This will be her second IRMSSSDR. Weight : 47# / 21kg
IVORY		6.5	Swing / Lead	This will be her first season in Stage racing. She is owned by our friend Joe Redington Jr. we are using her for the winter, she is very fast and runs in lead too. Weight : 45# / 29kg
JENNY		2.5	TEAM	This will be her first season in Stage racing. Weight : 44# / 19kg
JEWEL		2.5	TEAM/ swing	This will be her first season in Stage racing. Sister of Jenny. Weight : 44# / 19kg
MEMPHIS		2.5	Lead / swing	This will be her first season in Stage racing. She ran last winter in Sprint and finished Second in the World Championship IFSS (6dog class) with Magali. Littermate (different year) of Iset. Weight : 44# / 19kg
NIKI		8.5	SWING or LEAD	WYOMING 98/99/2000 & 2001 ; FIREPLUG 2001/00/99/ 97 ; Yellowknife 98/2000 & 2001, ...He is always in the main team Very friendly. Hard worker.Barks to go and even when he run ! Drink and eat very well. Very strong mental Weight : 50# / 23kg
RAMSES		4	TEAM or SWING	FIREPLUG 2001/00/98 ; Very friendly ! Weight : 48# / 22kg
ROMEO		2.5	TEAM	First season on stage racing Weight : 47# / 21kg
RUNNER		7	TEAM or SWING	WYOMING 2001/00/98/99 ; FIREPLUG 2001/00/9 / 97 ; YELLOWKNIFE, SHEEP CREEK RACE, ...Very friendly ! .He is a 1/4 hound cross and 3/4 alaskan husky.Always happy and want to go. Weight : 45# / 20kg

SMALLET		3	LEADER	Nice running dog. Ran Wyoming last year. Weight : 50# / 25kg
SPADE		8.5	LEADER	WYOMING 2001/00/98/99 ; FIREPLUG 2001/00/99/ 97 ; YELLOWKNIFE 98/2000 & 2001, SHEEP CREEK RACE, ...He is always in the main team. Main Mid distance racing leader. Very happy dog ! Very good leader. Trots and lops very nice. Eat and drink very well. Weight : 50# / 23kg
YANKEE		2.5	Team	This will be her first season in Stage racing. He ran last winter in Sprint and finished Second in the World Championship IFSS (6 dog class) with Magali. Brother to Zoulou. Weight : 54# / 27kg
ZOULOU		2.5	Team	This will be her first season in Stage racing. He ran last winter in Sprint and finished Second in the World Championship IFSS (6 dog class) with Magali. Bother to Yankee. Weight : 54# / 27kg
